Speaker Bio - Maurice Robinette
Maurice Robinette is a third generation cow-calf operator in Cheney, WA. After doing graduate work in rural sociology at the University of Idaho, Maurice returned to ranching. In 1996 he started using holistic management on his range, the Lazy R. Using the techniques of holistic management, he has cut costs, improved productivity, and made the ranch a happy and healthy place to raise a family. Maurice also worked for several years as an Eastern Washington organizer for the Washington Sustainable Food and Farming Network and recently co-founded the non-profit organization Managing Change Northwest. He wants to continue to learn and understand the interaction of economics, people, and the environment. Maurice and his wife Ellen have two daughters. One of them continues the family tradition by managing marketing for Lazy R.
