Stephen Van Vleet was raised on a fruit farm in Western Colorado (Paonia). Steve has a master’s degree in Entomology (biological control of weeds) and doctorate in Agronomy (wheat cropping systems) from the University of Wyoming.

Steve has work experience as a research agronomist with the USDA/ARS, as a weed and pest supervisor and in ag chemical research and development for private industry.

Currently Steve is the WSU – Whitman County Extension Educator in Agriculture & Natural Resources (Colfax, WA). His primary projects focus on managed grazing, integrated invasive plant control and sustainable small grain production.
