
Alex is a social scientist in the field of science, health, and risk communication. Their research explores informal public engagement with science and technology in the digital age. They earned their PhD in Communication (Science & Environmental Track) from The Edward R. Murrow College of Communication at Washington State University. They have also served as a Lecturer in Strategic Communication there. Their research encompasses STEM information and misinformation sharing online, the diffusion of scientific innovations, and media psychology. Their work can be found in international textbooks and journals such as Public Understanding of Science, Communication Studies, Health Communication, and more. In 2023, Alex became a postdoctoral scholar at CSANR. Additionally, they hold the position of Science Communication Specialist at the AI Institute for Transforming Workforce & Decision Support (AgAID).
