
The Washington Soil Health Initiative (WaSHI) and WSU’s Center for Sustaining Agriculture and Natural Resources are excited to announce SoilCon Field Day 2023! With three years of virtual SoilCon education, it’s time to get out in the field and learn through experience.
Join us for:
- A tour of the first WaSHI Long-Term Agroecological Research Experiment site, with insight from NWREC researchers on the importance of addressing long-term considerations in soil health.
- Tutorials in soil sampling, the range of soil health metrics, and a visualization with a rainfall simulator.
- Demonstrations on biochar and no-till drills.
- Discussions on the significance of cover cropping and compost usage on soil health, as well as the current status of the Washington Soil Health Initiative.
SoilCon Field Day will be held from 12:00-4:00 pm on July 27th, 2023 at Mount Vernon Northwestern Washington Research and Extension Center.
