The Climate Resilience Plan for Washington Agriculture is a statewide initiative led by the Washington State Department of Agriculture (WSDA) to strengthen agricultural viability and vitality in the face of climate change. The effort addresses climate-related risks including extreme weather, wildfires, flooding, water supply volatility, pest pressure, and worker safety concerns.

The project integrates scientific research, policy synthesis, and extensive stakeholder engagement with producers, farmworkers, researchers, and policymakers across Washington state. It establishes six resilience goals supported by strategies and actions designed to enhance adaptation capacity, expand access to resources, promote innovation, and improve cross-sector coordination. Implementation includes defined timelines, metrics, evaluation plans, and periodic updates.

Beyond the plan document itself, this initiative represents an ongoing framework for coordinating climate adaptation efforts across agencies, research institutions, and agricultural communities to ensure long-term resilience and competitiveness of Washington agriculture.
