StockSmart Meetups

Free monthly virtual meetups helping users build skills, troubleshoot workflows, and apply StockSmart to grazing decisions.

StockSmart Meetups are free, monthly virtual drop-in sessions designed to help rangeland managers and technical professionals build practical skills using the StockSmart decision-support tool. Led by members of the StockSmart development team, each meetup begins with a short guided walkthrough of a core StockSmart feature and then shifts to open discussion and peer learning.

Participants can ask questions, troubleshoot specific challenges, and learn how others are applying StockSmart to real-world grazing management decisions. Topics include interpreting vegetation and forage data, refining results using herd and land characteristics, building scenarios to analyze and compare, and importing or exporting spatial data such as fences, pastures, and water locations.

Meetups are open to both new and experienced StockSmart users and are intended to support use of StockSmart in long-term grazing planning and climate-resilient rangeland management. Sessions are held monthly and complement the broader StockSmart project by providing hands-on training, user support, and opportunities for knowledge exchange among ranchers, land managers, educators, and agency staff.

StockSmart meetups are supported by the National Institute of Food and Agriculture, U.S. Department of Agriculture, under award number 2023-38640-39571 through the Western Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education program, project number 2023-07695.
