
Heleene Tambet is a social scientist working on sustainability questions around agriculture and food. She is trained in applied economics and has extensive experience with collecting and analyzing quantitative survey data. She has worked on questions like economic impacts of an organic certification program and adoption of soil and water conservation practices after experiences of abnormal weather. Prior to joining CSANR, she spent over four years at the International Food Policy Research Institute where she was responsible for data management, analysis and visualization for impact evaluations of projects aiming to develop agricultural value chains, increasing adoption of land management practices, and more in low-income countries. She holds an MSc from the University of San Francisco. Heleene comes from a family that farms as her parents operate a sheep and grain farm in her native country of Estonia. She spends her free time trail running, cross country skiing, and volunteering for several causes in her current home, Leavenworth, WA.
