Organic Farming Research for the Northwest
In 2003 the CSANR launched an organic farming research program to serve the Pacific Northwest. This Federally supported research program supported the expansion of crop production research and initiated economic and market research of organic foods. The grant program completed its second and final 5-year funding cycle in 2013, and for each cycle, research priorities were identified by organic growers, consumers, suppliers, and researchers in the region. Based on available funds, the CSANR selected projects for funding with input from a review committee composed of internal researchers and external stakeholders.
