Food Systems

Public interest in achieving more sustainable regional food systems is growing in Washington and is reflected in a wealth of new food systems initiatives at state, regional, and community levels. Strengthening connections within regional food systems is seen as an opportunity to open new markets for farmers, spur economic development, improve community-wide access to fresh and nutritious foods, and build public awareness about farming and the environment.
