WSU, the Northwest Horticultural Council, and the Washington Tree Fruit Research Commission, and Washington State Tree Fruit Association have partnered to develop a life cycle assessment (LCA) for apple production based on conditions experienced in the Pacific Northwest. To accurately understand production practices and generate data for this LCA, the research team is requesting that apple production professionals complete this survey regarding production practices and orchard infrastructure.

“By compiling block-level data via this survey, the team plans to assemble a model that represents the industry overall and accurately reflects apple production across the Pacific Northwest. In addition, our goal is to develop an LCA tool that will allow you, or others in your company, to calculate sustainability metrics for your operation. This analysis tool – available to all Washington apple growers – will help the apple industry identify practical, region-specific solutions and quantify the climate-smart practices they’re already doing.”

Information provided in this survey is confidential and safeguards are in place to protect against breaches in confidentiality. Resulting data will be anonymized.
